Bucket List: Top 5 Destinations

# 1 New Zealand

This one gets to me.  I was SO close to studying abroad in New Zealand for a semester in college. But, after I got the bill for $25,000, I figured I'd be better off planning an epic Kiwi excursion for my post grad years. I am more interested in visiting the South Island, not that the North Island doesn't have a lot to offer, but the South Island is less populated and has a variety of mountain views.  Right up my alley.

# 2 Backpack Torres del Paine National Park in Chile

This place should be on everyone's bucket list.  The epic landscape and overall vastness of Patagonia is something that quite honestly could bring me to tears when I finally get to see it in person.  My hope is to do a week long backpacking trip through one of the park's popular circuits.

# 3 Iceland

The staple Blue Lagoon, Skogafoss waterfall, Landmannalaugar and of course the Aurora Borealis are all reasons to travel to Iceland.  Iceland has been a tourism hot spot the last few years, and it's easy to see why with all of the beautiful photos that get shared across social media.  Flights to Reykjavik are actually very reasonable, and would make for an unforgettable week (or two) long getaway.  I'm hoping to get there before the end of 2018 so if anyone would like to tag along, you know how to contact me : )

# 4 Denali National Park/Gates of the Arctic/Alaska

I had the opportunity to briefly visit Alaska in August of 2017.  For anyone that likes to fish, and can handle sea sickness better than I can, Sitka is the place to go.  Alaska has been stuck in my head since then and I'm itching to get back and explore more of what it has to offer.  One could probably spend months hopping around it's national parks.

# 5 Switzerland

Switzerland is a country that I have always been intrigued by.  I truthfully don't know much about it, other than it is home to the Matterhorn mountain of the Alps.  That peak alone is enough for it to be in my top five.

It's your turn!  What am I missing? What destinations are in your top five?
